Case Study – 20ft New Container with Shelving and Electrics
This 20ft new container was converted in our Cannock depot, it is equipped with heavy duty shelving and a standard electrics package. The unit is being used at a construction site for secure storage of tools and materials.
The 20ft container that was used for this project is a one trip, three bar unit which is externally blue RAL5010. The container is equipped with small vents for air circulation, 28mm marine plywood flooring, a fitted high security lockbox and forklift pockets. These units are ideal for use on construction sites as they are easily secured and can be moved by various methods.
Our team installed the heavy-duty longspan shelving prior to delivery. The shelving consisted of six bays in total, three fitted to each internal 20ft length measuring 1825mm long x 2000mm high x 600mm deep per bay. The shelving was fixed to the marine plywood floor.
A standard electrical package was installed. This included two 5ft strip lights, one 13amp double socket, a distribution board, one 2kw down flow heater and an external 32amp commando socket.
The unit was converted and delivered within four weeks.
This container conversion was used in the construction industry for storage of materials and tools however it could be used for various other storage solutions including;
- Household storage as a garage or when moving to a new house.
- Archiving storage, the shelving system holds up to 850KG so ideal for storing boxes of paperwork.
- School storage, whether that’s for PE equipment, art supplies or space for catering equipment and food.
- Additional external storage at an industrial unit or warehouse.
